Pacifica Quartet & Jorg Widmann, clarinet

The Pacifica Quartet returns to 92Y following an acclaimed debut last season. They open with one of Haydn’s last and most ambitious quartets, then welcome one of the foremost composer/performers of our time, Jörg Widmann. First they play his “endearingly peculiar, era-hopping” (The New York Times) “Hunt” Quartet; then he joins them for Brahms’s beloved and deeply moving Clarinet Quintet.
