The internationally acclaimed Alexander String Quartet– “Dream-come-true performances,” The Boston Globe – return to the Baruch Performing Arts Center to give two New York premieres exploring remote landscapes.  Tarik O’Regan’sGradual(2016), commissioned by The Boise Chamber Music Society, is a reflection of the “perpetually shifting and evolving landscape... the unique geographical phenomena of Idaho.”  O’Regan’s work, described as “beautifully-imagined, holding the audience rapt” - The Financial Timeswill receive its New York premiere with Haydn’s String Quartet in G minor, Op. 74, No. 3, and Schubert’s String Quintet in C major, D. 965 (Jay Campbell, guest cellist) on Nov 18 at 7:30 in the intimate Rosalyn and Irwin Engelman Recital Hall, “a perfect hall for chamber music,” - The New York Times.  (Baruch Performing Arts Center on 25^th Street between 3^rd& Lexington Aves, enter south side of street. www.baruch.cuny.edu/bpac212-352-3101.)
