The internationally acclaimed Alexander String Quartet– “Dream-come-true performances,” The Boston Globe – return to the Baruch Performing Arts Center to give two New York premieres exploring remote landscapes. Cindy Cox’sPatagón isa musical portrait of the southern Argentinian landscape inspired by a trip to the Valdes peninsula nature preserve in which Cox evokes aspects of sky, earth, and animal lifea stunning demonstration of how expert scoring married to a wide-ranging imagination can bear infinitely satisfying fruit,” - Fanfare. Patagón is presented with Haydn’s String Quartet in C major, Op. 76, No. 3, and Schubert’s String Quartet No. 15 in G major, D. 887on Nov 16 at 7:30 in the intimate Rosalyn and Irwin Engelman Recital Hall, “a perfect hall for chamber music,” - The New York Times.  (Baruch Performing Arts Center on 25th Street between 3rd& Lexington Aves, enter south side of street.)
