Attacca Quartet at The Kosciuszko Foundation

The acclaimed ATTACCA QUARTET will perform works by Haydn, Richard Wilson, and Grieg at The Kosciuszko Foundation on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 8PM.  Haydn's Quartet in C, Op. 74/1 begins the evening and Grieg's String Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 27 closes the concert.  Between these works, the group will perform Richard Wilson's String Quartet No. 3, commissioned in 1983 by the Walter Nauburg Foundation for The Muir Quartet which gave its premiere at Yale University in that year.  The New York Times deemed it "a work of substance and expressivity...[which] merits a place in the active repertory."  Andrew Porter, in The New Yorker described it as "a richly wrought and unusual composition."  Tickets at the door: $20; $15 seniors and students.
