Melody of China 20th Anniversary Concert: "Memories From the Past.." A Fusion of Jazz and Chinese Traditions

The afternoon will feature performances by Melody of China and guests erhu virtuoso Jiebing Chen, and jazz pioneers: pianist Jon Jang, saxophonist Francis Wong, bassist Marcus Shelby and drummer Deszon Claiborne in a rare fusion of jazz and Chinese traditions

The program will include a retrospective of Melody of China commissions, collaborations and traditional repertoire including Gang Situ'sDouble Concerto for Erhu and Yangqin and Francis Wong'sShanghai Story of Chinese and jazz quartets.
