The concert spans the centuries; in addition to the new premiere, it includes works by 20th century master Srul Irving Glick and 19th century great, Antonin Dvořák.Glick’s Suite Hebraique No. 5 is a three-movement work for flute, clarinet, violin and cello based on melodies the composer wrote in celebration of important occasions in the lives of his friends and family. The 15-minute suite beautifully communicates the importance of Jewish heritage in Glick’s life.The ACP is proud to commission Adam Schoenberg in this new piece for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano. Schoenberg is a member of Robert Spano’s Atlanta School of Composers and has had works premiered by the Atlanta Symphony and other major orchestras and ensembles around the country.The concert closes with the Piano Quintet in A Major from Dvořák.
