The 25th anniversary season of the Barbara and
William Karatz Chamber Concert series opens
on October 28, 2014, with Luca Pisaroni. Fresh
from appearing at Covent Garden in the title role
of Le nozze di Figaro and the Metropolitan Opera to
sing Caliban in the baroque pastiche The Enchanted
Island and Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Italian baritone
Luca Pisaroni leads our series with Lieder repertoire.
Pisaroni recently performed in the Salzburg Festival
for Guglielmo in Così fan tutte under Christoph
Eschenbach. He reprised this role, in 2014, at the
Wiener Staatsoper, where he also took on the role of
Enrico VIII in Anna Bolena. His diverse repertoire also
includes performances of Figaro at the Metropolitan
Opera, Opéra national de Paris, and San Francisco
Opera; Leporello at Glyndebourne, the Metropolitan
Opera, and Tanglewood, with the Boston Symphony
under James Levine; Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at
Glyndebourne; Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at Théâtre
des Champs-Elysées; and Tiridate in Radamisto at
Santa Fe Opera.
